Ontario Reporting Framework
Ontario schools report on the Ontario curriculum under Growing Success. Achievement is evaluated against a four-level achievement chart, where Level 3 is the provincial standard, and reported as letter grades in Grades 1-6 and percentage marks in Grades 7-12. Learning skills and work habits are reported separately with E, G, S or N. Elementary students receive a fall progress report card and two provincial report cards; secondary students receive two reports per semester in semestered schools, or three times a year with the first in the fall in non-semestered schools. Kindergarten uses the Communication of Learning, which describes key learning, growth and next steps across four strands without grades.
